Dr Jovanka King is a Consultant Paediatric Clinical Immunologist and Immunopathologist and a dual fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and Royal Australasian College of Pathologists (RCPA). She has a special interest in the diagnosis and management of paediatric and adult patients with primary immunodeficiency diseases (PID), an area in which she has both clinical and research experience at a national and international level. She completed a PhD in Immunology in 2018 through the University of Adelaide and the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden. Her doctoral research focused on newborn screening for primary immunodeficiency diseases.
Dr King is currently appointed conjointly as a Consultant Paediatric Immunologist and Immunopathologist at the Women’s & Children’s Health Network and SA Pathology. She has previously held consultant roles at the Perth Children’s Hospital and PathWest Pathology Service, and at the Institute of Immunity and Transplantation at the Royal Free Hospital/University College of London. Dr King has a keen interest in both undergraduate and postgraduate education and training. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education and is a Clinical Lecturer in the School of Medicine at the University of Adelaide.
